Enriching my soul and yours too is my secret ambition – if one can have such an ambition. It’s what prompted me to get training in Transformational Life Coaching and is what makes me love my work with the diversion court and our non-profit GreenRoom Exchange.

This came to mind when Lee shared a quote by Jazz Legend, Bill Evans. He said “My creed for art in general is that it should enrich the soul; it should teach spirituality by showing a person a portion of himself he would not discover otherwise”.* This makes me consider how we enrich our soul and how we share that part of ourselves.
Here are some thoughts to consider.
DEEPLY EXPLORE AND FOLLOW WHAT YOU LOVE
One of the concepts I learned in Transformational Life Coaching is that when you are authentic in pursuing your gifts and talents, you create a red thread of continuity that follows you. As your interests and skills deepen and become enriched over time, they define who you are as a soul. Finding the things that you love helps you create a rich maturity that becomes the joy of your life journey.
BE AUTHENTIC IN SHARING
Finding ways to express yourself authentically is a challenge that is worth the risk. For it is in that sharing that you create real relationships, create a tribe of people around you who share similar interests, deepen who you are as a soul and make changes in yourself and others. I have been on a campaign for decades to help create more kindness and compassion in the justice system and to help the individuals I see become more connected to who they are at a soul level. I think it makes a difference for me to take that risk and it’s gratifying to see how it helps others change too.
NOTE WHAT YOU LOVE IN OTHERS
I tell Lee continually that listening to him write music is like being a witness to something that is being divinely channeled. His music is so beautiful, soulful and lyrical, showing the spiritual side of himself he doesn’t otherwise share. What I witness is what Bill Evans talks about. Consider how this works for you and please, do more of it. The world needs your soul’s expression.
How does this speak to you? Reach out if you’d like to explore it.
