Looking In – Clearing Out

Looking in and clearing out is what’s going on in my life. I’m doing this as I prep for my Clear and Relaunch workshop on October 23-24, and I’m literally clearing out our garage and basement. It’s cathartic.

While walking in the park I saw the above sign to the garden – with the tree having grown over the first three letters. I’ve been walking there for decades and just now stopped to appreciate the message. Looking inside is like going into your own personal den, the first step to clearing out.

Here’s some thoughts on what’s important about the looking in and clearing out process.

Look Inside

It’s been a hard couple of years, actually it’s still hard. What are you holding on to that needs to be cleared out? I have found a lot of internal gunk – patterns of watching, reacting and holding on to feelings that serve no purpose. I have habits that could use some change. I see patterns of interactions in situations that don’t serve me. And there’s sentimental stuff that I can finally say serves no purpose at all.

Do an internal inventory and ask yourself what feelings, habits, patterns of interactions and stuff no longer serve you. Here are some notes on each one.

  • Feelings – Look at your patterns of feelings that have built up over the years. Are there especially hard ones like anger, resentment, jealousy, competition, loss and sorrow? How do they serve you now? If they don’t, ask yourself if it’s time to release them.
  • Habits – We all have good and bad habits. I’m happy about my good ones and facing my bad ones. Making a decision to be done with a bad habit can change your life. Like eating better, exercising more, meditate, reduce screen time, or those tricky habits of negative thought and self-depreciation. Consider yours.
  • Interactions – Do you ever cringe at some of your patterns of interactions? Like being too nice, not being nice enough, overreacting, underreacting, co-oping  your truth. All this can change. Being nice, direct and clear is always good. Think about it.
  • Stuff – I have too much stuff – I’m sentimental. Where does it end? I’ve decided it’s time to let a lot of it go. Going through things, clothes and furniture is time consuming. Ask yourself: Do I love it, need it, use it or have to keep it? Only keep the ones with lots of yeses.

Do any of these speak to you? My October workshop will provide a structured format to go through a clearing out process in preparation for a relaunching of the new you. This workshop integrates the ancient wisdom perspectives from the Egyptian Hermetic Principles and the rituals I’ve learned from my trips to Africa. It will take you on a transformation journey!

If you’re interested, let me know. I’ll have details and registration on my website soon and will be writing more about it over the next several weeks. Go to www.spectrumtransformation.com for more information or contact me on my Free Consultation link. I’d love to hear from you.
