Why You Should CELEBRATE Good News

It was a great week with lots of good news and it looks like it’ll continue. Of course I’ve been very thankful, but before I move on, I realize there are important reasons why you should celebrate good news. Some people see this differently, so let me explain.

Last week, I wrote about how to change worry into something productive, because there was so much up in the air, I needed the redirection. High anticipation can be unnerving. Now that I know things have turned out well, I’m ready to celebrate! The funding is coming for our court program, my training last week was fantastic, I’m getting my new course planned and this week is going to be incredible with our friends from Ghana here for 7 days of drumming and dance performances. What a difference a week makes!

Here are some reasons why it is a good thing to celebrate your good news successes.

Celebration and Thanks Generate More Good Will

Everyone loves good news, it’s a delight that invites sharing. When there are other people involved, it means joy can be spread further. My, do we need this now. The more we can generate positive interactions with each other, the more we can counter the muckity-muck that is miring our country.

The energetics of positive reactions spread like the ripples of a pebble skipped across a pond. With lots of stones skipping – the positivity exponentially.  The good will that this generates always comes back – it’s the nature of energy. It transforms feelings, attitudes, believes and ultimately our actions to the positive.

Positivity generates good will that can transform us all.

It Counters Superstitious Thinking

I am always surprised when I hear people say that being glad about something good will jinx it. I’m talking about the expressions like: “ Don’t say it out loud, you might jinx it”, “Don’t count your chickens before they hatch”, “Don’t get your hopes up”, and “remember Murphy’s Law, if something bad can happen, it will”. These all imply that you shouldn’t get too happy – it might be taken away.

The energetics of this are a very real problem. It’s a message that tells you that you shouldn’t hold on to higher vibration good feelings, that it’s safer to stay with the fear based, lower vibration thoughts. This is exactly what generates downward spirals. It accounts for how fear based thinking won our last election. It throws us into unenlightened darkness.

Don’t be induced into believing that fear based thinking provides protection, when in fact it brings the opposite – more fear.

It Relaxes Your Body

Have you noticed that when you have good news, you suddenly take a deep breath and exhale a huge sigh of relief? Often, we are not fully aware of the tension we’ve been holding in our body. But our body knows immediately – that relaxed release that comes with good news is a universal signal. I watched this happen with my husband and was stunned to notice the difference it’s made.

Being relaxed has a myriad of health benefits that research can point to. As noted in an article in Huffingtonpost, It boosts our immune system, reduces stress on the heart, thus reducing heart disease, it increases cognition so that you have a better memory and are able to problem solve more accurately, it reduces depression and keeps you from stress over-eating.*

Focusing on the good news keeps you from holding on to stress and tension so you can relax.

Celebration Gives You Energy For More

Finally, the celebration of good news sets us up with energy to do more. We need it, for often good news launches us to execute something new or implement what we’ve been seeking. It sustains us for the additional work and the mental power that’s required.

This is another important lesson in energetics from the  Law of Vibration. When we launch our positive intentions, focus our feelings and thoughts on positive anticipation, it is no wonder that when the good news of its success comes, we will have more positive energy to move forward. It illustrates how the Law of Vibration works – we’ve created a self-generating loop of positivity.

How do you respond to good news? Sports events can give you a high for a few moments to celebrate a win, but other than that, how often are you giving yourself a chance to savor it? We need to give ourselves the chance to relish the good feelings that comes from positive personal and career news. It keeps our thoughts and actions positive, counters superstitious negativity, reduces stress, relaxes our body and gives us more energy. The energetics of this process renews us.
