CIVIL UNREST- Acting On Contrast and Contradiction

Is the unrest and underlying political contrast or contradictions creating distress for you?  The  turmoil in our nation is deeply disturbing, a result of long brewing issues. While I don’t like to talk politics, this is a time to take notice.

What can we learn from these events and how can the contrast to what you desire lead you in more enlightened, positive, benevolent directions? Here are some thoughts:

Notice The Contrast To What You Like

The ancient Law of Polarity gives us very clear guidance. Notice what you don’t like to understand what you do want and what is important to you.

The glaring racism and power inequity that precipitated the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery are the tipping point sparking violence across the nation. Enough ….is the message. Yes, unrest is needed to bring long needed change to make policies and actions match our beliefs. We are being pushed and challenged to notice what we don’t like and do something about it.

Pay Attention to Contradictions

If ever there was a time to trust and align with your intuitive side, it is now. When top leaders of our country say one thing and do the opposite, with issues of race, the environment, gender and our health and safety what are you going to believe? Trust your instincts and act.

Pay attention to contradictions that lure you into compliance to policies that impinge the greater good.  When you hear autocratic bullying and divisiveness, trust that these power and control dynamics do not honor individual’s best interests. They are forced power moves designed to enrich and embolden the power brokers. We can no longer ignore and straddle the fence on this.

Clarify Your Priorities And Take Action

What’s important to you – how are you aligning your attention and action with your values and your beliefs? You have options…. take them.

Be politically active –  whether you march and protest, provide financial support to candidates or work on campaigns, at a minimum you must vote.

Be an example of what you believe –  speak up and denounce hatred, prejudice and power inequities based on race, gender and economics and show by your actions what unity, fairness and compassion looks like.

Is civil unrest highlighting issues for you? Maybe it is time to take action – to be more of an example of what you think and believe.
