It’s been an intense weekend, in trying to sum it up, the phrase “Do you care enough” came to mind. Do you care enough about yourself, do you care enough about others, do you care enough about what’s going on around you? It’s the little things that make a difference.
We were attending a funeral in DC for dear friends who have lost their second son to natural causes in six months. He died young, in middle age, just like his brother. It’s beyond comprehension, it makes you question things, and it puts what’s important in perspective. Everyone in attendance was moved by stories of his life. In contrast to all this, the cherry blossoms were in peak bloom. There was much to consider.

Here are some thoughts about the importance of caring – go ahead and ask yourself. DO YOU CARE ENOUGH ….?
ABOUT YOURSELF
Are you taking care of yourself – – your health and mental health? Our friend’s blood pressure was sky high, he was stressed, were they cause to his passing? We have other friends who are experiencing crises in relationships and with their mental health. Listen to what your body is telling you need, get the help you need and take care of yourself. You are worth it for you are here for divine purpose.
ABOUT OTHERS
The stories we heard about our friend were about his conscientious responsiveness to others. They were heartwarming and a reminder about what’s important. Be responsive to those you love, take interest in those around you, make your relationships a priority. Be curious about people of all nationalities – learn about their culture, politics, food and beliefs. It will make you a better person and the world a better place.
ABOUT WHATS GOING ON AROUND YOU
We don’t live in a vacuum. Pay attention to what is going on around you. These are precarious times so take exception to what you disagree with as the consequences may be bad. And care enough to keep things normal – be kind to your neighbors and those you love. As people said at the funeral – “Life is for the living” “Don’t put of tomorrow what you can do today”. Make your life worthwhile.
