Yes, you have tremendous potential, it’s what you decide to do with it that makes the difference. Just like a mighty oak tree’s tiny acorn, we start small but with all the right ingredients to make something of ourselves. Life’s journey helps or hurts, but we still have potential and choice.
This thought surfaced after I watched some of the debate, agonizing seeing the potential for good to prevail be thwarted. But I remembered, potential still exists, it’s what happens next that counts.
Here are some thoughts on what you can personally do with your potential.
PUT YOUR THOUGHTS ON YOUR GIFTS NOT YOUR WEAKNESSES
I see many people tormented over what they perceive as their flaws, missteps, or fears. It keeps people twisting and turning in doubt, indecision, anxiety and depression. Certainly, that was happening post-debate. Instead, focus on your soul’s perspective of yourself, for it only sees your abundance of positive attributes. This switch in focus can help turn things around. It takes practice and doesn’t happen overnight, but it will put you on a productive path toward acting on your potential.
RECOGNIZING AN IDEA CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING
Potential is always waiting, waiting for the next idea or decision to move things forward in your life. Nothing happens until that flash of inspiration or nudge to move in a new direction. Listening to your internal voice, the one of your soul, giving it room to surface is what can change everything. The new career path, the creative idea, the change in relationships, new situations, all start with a simple idea and a decision to step forward. Invite it in.
YOUR INTENTION DIRECTS YOUR BEHAVIOR
With a new idea and decision, you are giving yourself a strong message that directs your behavior. Without the behavior, nothing happens. Talk is just that – you have to put the words into action. Get the support you need to move forward. Seek counseling or coaching to work through your doubt and confusion. Your potential is calling you!
